Purchase options and add-ons

This title follows from New Vanguard 51: Kriegsmarine U-boats 1939–45 (1) and charts the continuing development of the U-boat in German service, including the evolution of the Type IX as a long range 'cruiser' intended for solo operations in distant waters. Also covered is the revolutionary Type XXI, conceived of in 1942 and launched in April 1944, the first true submarine rather than submersible, whose arrival was just too late to influence the war. Other vessels covered are the Type XXIII, a small vessel armed with only two torpedoes but technically highly advanced, and the Type X minelayers, which were rarely used in their intended role and more often used as supply boats.

Excellent, reading on the German submarines of WWII

Excellent, reading on the German submarines of WWII
Great book on the submarines of the German navy. I picked them both up. I know that some Marines could barely dive to the depth of their length. Just curious on why the kriegsmarine U boats 1 and 2 do not list the operational diving depth of the submarines. Other books Imperial Japanese navy submarines British submarines in the US submarines all list operational diving depth. But these are still excellent books that make a great addition to your navel library

This is a continuation of the same title (1) and focus on the subs of middle and final war stage.
The book is good for reference and consulting, with any limited personal history linked to the model sub.

Perfect companion to vol 1. Covers type 9 and late war models.

This is a geat consise read that compliments the first book. The type ix boat is the primary discussion. Recommend like all new vanguard books.

I have been very pleased with and impressed with the quality of Osprey publications. The Vanguard and New Vanguard series are focused on specific weapon systems. Kriegsmarine U-boats 1939-45 (2) provides information on the Type IX, X, XXI and XXIII U-boats, armaments, torpedoes, mines, rockets, foreign submarines used, and midget submarines with illustrations. it is the 2nd volume in the series on Kriegsmarine U-boats.

5.0 out of 5 stars La imprescindible segunda parte
Reviewed in Spain on June 1, 2022
