HMS Pennywort (T/Lt. W.P. Hart, RNR) and HMS Damsay together pick up 59 survivors from the British merchant Orminster that was torpedoed and sunk by the Germans submarine U-480 in the English Channel about 35 nautical miles north-west of Cap dŽAntifer in position 50º09'N, 00º44'W.
