ASW Trawler HMS Le Tiger (FY 243)

HMS Le Tiger (T/Lt. C.A. Hoodless, RNR) picks up 31 survivors of the American merchant Alexander Macomb that was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-215 east of Cape Cod in position 41.48N, 66.35W. Shortly afterwards U-215 was sunk in position 41.48N, 66.38W by depth charges from HMS Le Tiger.
On 13 July 2004 it is reported that the wreck of U-215 was found.
