HMS Arran (T/Lt. D.S. Hutton, RNR) picks up 136 survivors from the British merchant Clan Macpherson that was torpedoed and damaged by the German submarine U-515 about 75 nautical miles southwest of Freetown in position 07º58'N, 14º14'W. The Clan Macpherson finally foundered in position 08º04'N, 14º12'W.
