HMS Clarkia (Lt.Cdr. F.J.G. Jones, RNR) picks up 45 survivors from the British passenger ship Accra that was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-34 about 320 nautical miles west of Bloody Foreland in position 55º40'N, 16º28'W.

HMS Clarkia also picks up 32 survivors from the British merchant Vinemoor that was torpedoed and damaged by the German submarine U-34 about 320 nautical miles west of Bloody Foreland in position 55º43'N, 16º25'W. The Vinemoor sank the next day in position 55°25'N, 16°05'W.

12 Oct 1940
HMS Clarkia (Lt.Cdr. F.J.G. Jones, RNR) picks up 16 survivors from the Norwegian merchant Brandanger that was torpedoed and sunk, the previous day, south of Iceland in position 57º10'N, 17º42'W by the German submarine U-48.

3 Feb 1941
The British merchant Empire Citizen is torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-107 southwest of Iceland in position 58º12'N, 23º22'W. HMS Clarkia (Lt.Cdr. F.J.G. Jones, RNR) later picks up 5 survivors.

15 Mar 1942
HMS Clarkia (Lt.Cdr. F.J.G. Jones, RNR) picks up 4 survivors from the British tanker British Resource that was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-124 north of Bermuda in position 36º04'N, 65º38'W.

19 Aug 1942
HMS Clarkia (Lt.Cdr. F.J.G. Jones, RNR) picks up 40 survivors from the British tanker British Consul that was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-564 85 nautical miles north-west of Boca Grande, Trinidad in position 11º58'N, 62º38'W.

The German submarine U-1208 was sunk in the English Channel south-east of Isles of Scilly, in position 49º51'783N, 06º06'750W, by depth charges from the British frigates HMS Duckworth (A/Lt.Cdr. D. Jermain, DSC and Bar, RN) and HMS Rowley (Lt.Cdr. F.J.G. Jones, RNR).
