The German blockade breaker Rhakotis (6753 GRT) is intercepted by the British light cruiser HMS Scylla (Capt. I.A.P. Macintyre, CBE, DSO, RN) about 200 nautical miles north-west of Cape Finisterre in position 45º01'N, 10º50'W. When the British open fire the Germans scuttled their ship.
