HMS Londonderry (Lt.Cdr. R.G. Jenkins, RN) was disabled by an explosion astern (possibly the premature explosion of a depth-charge). She was towed into Londonderry on 7 February. She was repaired at Devonport Dockyard. Repairs lasted to October 1943.

The German submarine U-538 was sunk in the North Atlantic south-west of Ireland, in position 45º40'N, 19º35'W, by depth charges from the British frigate HMS Foley (Lt.Cdr. D.E. Mansfield, RN) and the British sloop HMS Crane (Lt.Cdr. R.G. Jenkins, RN).

The German submarine U-962 was sunk in north Atlantic north-west of Cape Finisterre, in position 45º43'N, 19º57'W, by depth charges from the British sloops HMS Crane (Lt.Cdr. R.G. Jenkins, RN)
and HMS Cygnet (Cdr. D.M. MacLean, RN).
