The German submarine U-212 was sunk in the English Channel south of Brighton, in position 50º27'N, 00º13'W, by depth charges from the British frigates HMS Curzon (Lt.Cdr. A. Diggins, RN) and HMS Ekins (Lt. G. Bonner-Davies, RN).
