27 Dec 1941
USS Perch (Lt.Cdr. David Albert Hurt) torpedoes and damages the Japanese supply ship Noshima (7190 GRT) in the South China Sea in position 22º14'N, 115º13'E. Perch was damaged by depth charges during this attack and she went to Darwin, Australia to repair the damage.
