USS Skipjack (Lt.Cdr. R.S. Andrews) damages the Japanese motor sailship Tatsu Maru No.6 off Shimushiru, Kuril Islands in position 46º40'N, 151º40'E. Strong currents then drive the damaged vessel upon a reef. She was beyond salvage.
