USS Ludlow (Lt.Cdr. C.H. Bennett, Jr., USN) picks up 36 survivors from the British merchant Fred W. Green that was shelled and sunk by the German submarine U-506 on 31 May about 200 miles southeast of Bermuda in position 30º20'N, 62º00'W.
