USS Purdy arrives at Leyte, Philippines.

USS Purdy departs Leyte to participate in the Okinawa campaign.

USS Purdy arrives in the Okinawa area.
12 Apr 1945
USS Purdy is heavily damaged by Japanese kamikaze aircraft of Okinawa in position 27º16'N, 127º50'E. 15 of her crew were killed and 58 were wounded. Purdy put into Kerama Retto for temporary repairs. Later she headed to Guam for further repairs.
28 May 1945
USS Purdy arrives at San Francisco for full repairs and overhaul.
