Acting Commander Frederick Ross James was born at Camberwell, Melbourne, Victoria Australia on the 23rd July 1903. Parents-Charles Frederick James and Charlotte Maidment Kent. He married Claudina Callaway in 1932. His only son Henry Sandeman James was born in Woollahra, Sydney, NSW, Australia in 1936.
Frederick Ross James died at Clifton Springs near Geelong, Victoria on the 20th July 1975. He is buried in the Drysdale near Geelong, cemetery.
