HMCS Drumheller (T/Lt. L.P. Denny, RCNR) picks up 19 survivors from the British merchant Ford Concord that was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-456 about 350 nautical miles north of the Azores in position 46º05'N, 25º20'W.

13 May 1943
The German submarine U-753 was sunk in the North Atlantic, in position 48º37'N, 22º39'W, by depth charges from the Canadian corvette HMCS Drumheller (T/Lt. L.P. Denny, RCNR), the British frigate HMS Lagan (Lt.Cdr. A. Ayre, RNR) and depth charges from a Canadian Sunderland aircraft (RCAF Sqdn. 423/G).
