Minesweeper HMCS Melville (J 263)
22 Feb 1942
HMCS Melville (T/Lt. R.T. Ingram, RCNR) picks up 2 survivors from the British tanker Kars that was torpedoed and heavy damaged by German U-boat U-96 south of Halifax in position 44°15'N, 63°25'W. The forepart of the tanker sank and the after part was towed to Halifax, where it was beached on 27 February and declared at total loss.

HMCS Melville (T/A/Lt.Cdr R.T. Ingram, RCNR) picks up 11 survivors from the British merchant Fort Qu?Appelle that was torpedoed and sunk the previous day by German U-boat U-135 north of Bermuda in position 39?50'N, 63?30'W.
