| Notes on loss | At 10.42 hours on 19 Jul, 1941, the Holmside (Master Norman Caulfield), dispersed from convoy OG-67, was torpedoed and sunk by U-66 northeast of the Cape Verde Islands. 18 crew members and three gunners were lost. The master, 13 crew members and two gunners were picked up by the Portuguese merchant Sete Cidades and landed at Lisbon on 1 August. | ||
