| Notes on loss | At 01.23 hours on 6 Sep, 1941, the unescorted Trinidad was sunk by U-95 with 37 rounds from the deck gun. The ship had been ordered to stop at 23.50 hours the day before and her master brought the papers to the U-boat after some rounds were fired over the ship with a machine-gun. The papers revealed that the ship was en route for Britain and the crew was given 20 minutes to abandon ship. | ||
