History
Notes on loss At 16.27 hours on 6 Jan, 1942, the Baron Erskine (Master George Sharp Cumming), a straggler from convoy SC-62, was torpedoed and sunk by U-701 north of Rockall. The master and 39 crew members were lost.
The U-boat misidentified her victim as Baron Haig, but it must have been the Baron Erskine since there is no other loss or success report from the area.
