| Notes on loss | At 20.45 hours on 22 Jan, 1942, the Vassilios A. Polemis, a straggler from convoy ON-53, was torpedoed and sunk by U-333. The Germans questioned the survivors and apparently misidentified her victim as the British steam merchant Burdwan (6069 grt). | ||
