Notes on loss At 03.59 hours on 20 Feb, 1942, the Nordvangen (Master Hagbart Karlsen) was hit in the stern by one torpedo from U-129 and sank within one minute. 19 Norwegian, four Dutch and one Danish crew member were lost. The ship had been reported missing, but on 6 March, a marked lifeboat and some debris was washed ashore at Trinidad.
