| Notes on loss | At 05.01 hours on 3 Jun, 1942, U-404 attacked the unescorted and neutral Anna with gunfire, after two torpedoes fired at 03.09 and 04.50 hours had missed. At 08.50 hours, a second attack was carried out with three rounds from the deck gun and the ship sank at 09.55 hours. The ship carried neutrality markings, but was en route on a zigzag course and darkened. | ||
