| Notes on loss | At 21.25 hours on 19 Nov, 1942, the unescorted Gunda (Master Odd Pedersen) was torpedoed and sunk by U-181 off the coast of East Africa, between Inhaca and Punta da Oro, Mozambique Channel. All officers and 32 Asian crew members were lost. Eight Indian survivors managed to get on a raft and were rescued. | ||
