Notes on loss

At 21.25 hours on 16 Feb, 1940, U-14 attacked two ships north of Kinnaird Head and torpedoed first the Osmed and ten minutes later the Liana.

The Osmed sank after one G7a torpedo hit 20 miles north of Kinnaird Head, taking 13 crewmen with her. The survivors were picked up by the British tralwer Loch Hope.

* Estimated position shown here is based on positions of losses in a roughly the same German grid code. It may be a bit off but should give a good idea as to where the attack took place.
