| Notes on loss | At 11.47 hours on 28 Mar, 1943, the Lagosian (Master George Washington Irvin) in convoy RS-3 was hit by one torpedo from U-167, broke in two and sank southeast of the Canary Islands. Eleven crew members were lost. The master, 24 crew members and ten gunners were picked up by the British tug Empire Denis and landed at Bathurst. | ||
