| Notes on loss | At 01.29 hours on 28 Apr, 1940, the Scottish American was hit by one torpedo from U-13 and caught fire. The U-boat had fired the last torpedo and left the tanker with the fore ship deep in the water, but the ship was salvaged and returned to service after being repaired. | ||
