| Notes on loss | Around 13.29 hours on 22 Feb, 1945, U-1004 fired one Gnat and a spread of two LUT torpedoes at the convoy BTC-76 southeast of Falmouth and heard detonations after 2 minutes, 11 minutes 43 seconds and 13 minutes 46 seconds and sinking noises from two ships, but claimed hits on three ships. Alexander Kennedy and HMCS Trentonian (K 368) were hit and sunk in this attack. The HMCS Trentonian (K 368) (Lt Colin S. Glassco, RCNVR) was hit by a torpedo starboard aft and sank quickly 12 miles east of Falmouth. One officer and 5 ratings were lost. The survivors, including eleven wounded, were picked up by British Fairmile motor launches. | ||
