History In April 1940, the whaler Southern Flower of The South Georgia Co Ltd (Chr. Salvesen & Co), Stanley was requisitioned by the Admiralty and converted to an A/S trawler. 
Notes on loss On 3 Mar, 1945, HMS Southern Flower was torpedoed and sunk by U-1022 off Reykjavik, Iceland.
