| Notes on loss | At 13.24 hours on 31 Jul, 1940, the Jersey City (Master Frank Jameson Stirling) in convoy OB-191 was hit by one G7e torpedo from U-99 and sank 70 miles northwest of Tory Island. Two crew members were lost. The master and 42 crew members were picked up by the British steam merchant Gloucester City, transferred to HMS Walker (D 27) (LtCdr A.A. Tait, RN) and landed at Liverpool. | ||
