| Notes on loss | On 15 Aug, 1940, the Sylvafield (Master James Edmund King), a straggler from convoy HX-62, was torpedoed by U-51 and sank 190 miles west-northwest of Rockall. Three crew members were lost. The master and 19 crew members were picked up by the Belgian trawler Rubens and landed at Fleetwood. 16 crew members were picked up by HMS Newland and landed at Tobermory, Isle of Mull. | ||
