History Laid down as Dutch Hermina for J. de Poorter, Rotterdam, completed as Boekelo for NV Stoomvaart Mij Noordzee, Amsterdam. 1918 taken over by the Shipping Controller and 1919 returned to owners. 1927 sold to Britain and renamed Ayresome for Tyne-Tees Shipping Co, Middlesbrough and 1935 renamed Surreybrook for Comben Longstaff & Co. 1937 sold to Rainham Steamship Co (L.H. Vaizey), London and 1938 to Angli-Iberian Steamship Co, London. 1940 renamed Coast Wings for Wing Line Ltd, Cardiff. 
Notes on loss At 01.53 hours on 26 Sep, 1940, the Coast Wings (Master Evan Phelps Davies), a straggler from convoy OG-43, was hit in the bow by one torpedo from U-46 southwest of Ireland. The ship disintegrated and debris fell down near the U-boat.
