| Notes on loss | At 05.10 hours on 15 Oct, 1940, U-138 attacked the convoy OB-228 and torpedoed the Bonheur, which later sank and at 05.15 hours torpedoed and damaged the British Glory. One G7a torpedo hit the British Glory aft in the engine room, killed three men on watch below and destroyed the engines. The disabled tanker was towed to Kames Bay, arriving on 18 October. She was later repaired at the Clyde and returned to service in January 1942. | ||
