History Built as Eddystone, 1917 renamed Grelstone, 1931 renamed Marionga 
Notes on loss At 03.56 hours on 24 May, 1941, the unescorted Marionga was hit in the stern by one torpedo from U-103 and sank by the stern within four minutes. The ship had been spotted at 19.50 hours on 23 May, but the U-boat had to wait for attacking until darkness. The first two torpedoes fired at 00.36 and 01.54 missed.
