| Notes on loss | At 20.43 hours on 29 May 1941, the Empire Storm (Master George Willbourne Stephenson), a straggler from convoy HX-128, was torpedoed and sunk by U-557 south of Cape Farewell. Three crew members were lost. The master, 35 crew members and four gunners were picked up by the Norwegian merchant Marita and landed at St.Johns, Newfoundland on 4 June. | ||
