History Completed in September 1912 as German Helene Hugo Stinnes 14 for Hugo Stinnes, Königsberg. 1920 taken over by Britain and renamed Corstream for Cory Colliers Ltd, London. 1933 sold to Greece and renamed Aigaion for P. Peloponissios & C. Scrivanos (Ph. Philippacopoulos & Co, Piræus. 1936 renamed Memas for N.D. Courouclis, Piræus. 
Notes on event

At 13.16 hours on 28 June 1942, U-97 fired a spread of two torpedoes at a convoy of three merchants with escorts (codenamed Metril) 14 miles south-southwest of Haifa and hit the Zealand, which sank within seconds. At 13.24 hours, a stern torpedo was fired which hit and sunk the Memas.
