| History | Built as steam trawler RT-411 Nenec for Sevgosrybtrest NKRP. On 19 Oct, 1939, the ship was requisitioned by the Soviet Navy, converted to the minesweeper T-898 (No 44) and assigned to the Northern Fleet. She participated in the Winter war against Finland and was returned to the owner on 29 Mar, 1940. On 25 Jun, 1941, the ship was again requisitioned by the Soviet Navy, assigned to the Northern Fleet on 29 July and since 23 August part of the White Sea Flotilla. | ||
| Notes on loss | At 10.11 hours on 25 Aug, 1941, U-752 fired a stern torpedo at T-898 (No 44) and scored a hit after 47 seconds. The vessel was alone on guard duty between Cape Chernyj and Cape Svyatoj Nos and sank almost immediately after the hit about 80 miles east of Cape Chernyj. | ||
