| History | | ||
| Notes on loss | At 10.44 hours on 21 Feb, 1942, the Egda, dispersed from convoy ON-65, was hit on the port side between the #3 and #4 wing tanks by two torpedoes from U-107, which caused a list to port. The tanker stopped only for a short time to counterflood and then proceeded. At 11.20 hours, the U-boat fired a stern torpedo that missed and was then forced to cease the attack because no torpedoes were left and the deck gun could not be used due to heavy seas. The Egda reached Halifax under own power on 23 February and later continued to New York for repairs. | ||
