Notes on loss

At 10.35 hours on 24 Feb, 1942, U-158 attacked the convoy ONS-67 and heard a detonation but could not observe anything since she had to dive. The Diloma was hit by one torpedo, was able to proceed at a reduced speed and reached Halifax a few hours after the convoy on 1 March. In April 1942 the tanker continued to Baltimore for permanent repairs and returned to service in June 1942.
