| Notes on loss | On 21 Dec, 1939, HMS Bayonet (Z 05) (T/Boom Engineer W. Barron, RNR) struck a mine laid by U-21 on 4 November and sank in the Firth of Forth. The commander and two ratings were lost and 28 men were wounded. | ||
