| Notes on loss | At 18.39 hours on 20 Jul, 1942, the Frederika Lensen (Master Bryan Ewart Russell) in convoy QS-19 was torpedoed and damaged by U-132 in the Gulf of St.Lawrence near Anticosti Island. Four crew members were lost. The vessel was towed by HMCS Weyburn (K 173) (Lt Thomas M.W. Golby) to Grand Vallée Bay and was beached there. Because her back was broken, the ship was declared a total loss. The master and 35 crew members were rescued by the HMCS Weyburn (K 173) and landed at Sydney. Six crew members landed at Grande Vallée Bay, Quebec. | ||
