| Notes on loss | At 16.50 hours on 5 Nov, 1942, the unescorted La Cordillera (Master John Meneely) was hit by one of two torpedoes from U-163 and sank by the stern about 85 miles east of Barbados. One crew member and two gunners were lost. The Germans questioned the survivors in two lifeboats. The master, 32 crew members and five gunners landed at Carlist Bay, Barbados. | ||
