Notes on loss At 03.05 hours on 12 Nov, 1942, U-77 fired a spread of three torpedoes (one torpedo did not left its tube) at the HMS Stork (L 81) and observed a hit near the bridge. The U-boat was then attacked with depth charges from another escort while the sloop was taken to port.
