| Notes on loss | At 06.02 hours on 29 Nov, 1943, U-20 fired a spread of two torpedoes at a convoy consisting of a tanker escorted by one torpedo boat and four patrol boats off Gogra in the Black Sea. No detonation was heard, so Grafen assumed that they had missed. In fact, one torpedo hit the Peredovik but was a dud and only made a small hole into the hull. | ||
