| Notes on loss | At 02.30 hours on 25 Nov, 1944, the HMCS Shawinigan (K 136) (Lt W.J. Jones RCNR) was hit by a Gnat from U-1228, while on an independent anti-submarine patrol in the Cabot Strait. The corvette exploded and sank immediately with all hands. | ||
