Notes on loss

On 13 Oct, 1942, the Bringhi arrived off Alexandria after being machine-gunned by an U-boat and was put on a reef outside of the harbour, where it sank after breaking up. The survivors of U-559 claimed the sinking of two sailing vessels on the last patrol of the U-boat.

* Estimated position shown here is based on positions of losses in a roughly the same German grid code. It may be a bit off but should give a good idea as to where the attack took place.
