| History | HMS LST 414 was torpedoed and damaged at 0335 hours on 15 August 1943 by Italian aircraft off Bizerte, Tunisia. The ship was beached and abandoned. The Italian aircraft was an S.79 torpedo bomber belonging to the 278^ Sqn,132nd Group, piloted bv captain Carlo Faggioni, which had taken off from Decimomannu airfield, Sardinia. |
