| History | She served in the Pacific, participating in many of the early battles around Java and the Philippines. In 1943 she was relocated to the Atlantic, and served mostly along the African coastline, securing shipping routes. Later she served as training ship for submarines. USS John D. Edwards was awarded 3 Battle Stars for her services. Decommissioned on 28 July, 1945, Stricken on 13 August 1945, Sold for scrap on 30 November 1945. |
