| History | HMS Sturgeon was lent to the Royal Netherlands Navy while refitting at the Devonport Dockyard (Plymouth, U.K.) in April 1943. On 11 October 1943 she was commissioned in the Royal Netherlands Navy and renamed Zeehond. Decommissioned by the Royal Netherlands Navy at Dundee on 14 September 1945. Returned to R.N. control at Dundee on 17 November 1945. Scrapped at Granton, Scotland in 1947. For the complete service history of this ship see this website (offsite link). |
