14 Sep, 1942
HMS Offa (Lt.Cdr. R.A. Ewing, RN) picks up survivors from the British tanker Atheltemplar that was torpedoed and damaged by the German submarine U-457 southwest of Bear Island.

The wreck of the Atheltemplar and later sunk by the German submarine U-408 with a few rounds from the 88mm gun.

26 Jan, 1944
HMS Offa (Lt.Cdr. R.F. Leonard, RN) picks up survivors from the British marchant Fort Bellingham that was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-957 in the Barents Sea north of North Cape in position 73º25'N, 25º10'E.
