ORP Slazak participated in the Dieppe Raid, bombarding numerous German shore artillery units, repulsing 30 air attacks and shoting down four Luftwaffe airplanes. For the action in Dieppe Raid, the commandor of ORP Slazak, Lt.Cmdr. Romuald Tyminski received the Distinguished Service Cross.

RAF Wireless Operator Bill Wright, DFC and other crewmen were rescued from the Atlantic after spending 3 days adrift in a dinghy when their aircraft had ditched after engine failure.
