| Noteable events involving Razyarenniy include: 20 Jan, 1945 At 10.55 hours on 20 January 1945, the Razyarenniy was hit north of the Rybachiy peninsula in position 70º00'N, 32º10'E by a Gnat torpedo from the German submarine U-293 while escorting convoy KP-1. Razyarenniy was hit in the afterpart and lost a part of the stern. The crew managed to keep the ship afloat, which was taken in tow at 17.10 hours by the Soviet minesweeper T 117 and reached Liinahamaari the next day. (see map) |
